Privacy Policy

The short version

This is an independent, public-interest information site. We collect as little as possible. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not track you across other websites.

Analytics

If you choose “Allow” on the cookie banner, we load Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is privacy-first and does not use cookies or fingerprinting, and it does not collect personal data. It gives us aggregate counts — how many people visit, which pages and steps are used, and roughly where traffic comes from — so we can keep the guide useful and accurate.

If you choose “Decline,” the analytics script is never loaded. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s storage in your browser, which makes the banner appear again.

Cookies and local storage

We keep cookies to a minimum:

Questions you submit

If you use the “Have a question?” form, we receive:

Submissions are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-respecting CAPTCHA alternative used to block automated spam. We store questions in a Cloudflare D1 database so site maintainers can read them, use them to improve the page, and reply if you left an email. Please do not include sensitive personal, legal, or medical details — this is not a confidential or professional-advice channel.

We keep questions only as long as needed to act on them and then delete them. To request deletion of a question you sent, contact us (below) with enough detail to locate it.

What we do not do

Service providers

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and uses Cloudflare for analytics (optional), Turnstile (spam protection), and database storage. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as our infrastructure provider.

Independence

This site is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by the City of New York or the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It is for general information only and is not legal or medical advice.
